This exploratory sectional model of the Baku Sfera was selected for exhibition in the Royal Academy Summer Exhibition (June – August) 2012.

The Sfera is a 20 meter diameter glass astronomical device that tells the time with light. Perched in a leafy hilltop park and mirrored by a large reflecting pool, it celebrates daily and seasonal change. The Sfera is entered from below on three spiralling staircases, the geometries of which continue to be expressed in the softly coffered dome above. The monument and observation point frames views of the city of Baku and the Caspian Sea.
