A couple of words about Marriott International from you, please. Give us some brief general information.

Marriott was established in 1927 with the snack place called The Hot Shoppe. In1957, Marriott Corporation opened its first hotel in Arlington County, Virginia, United States as the Twin Bridges Motor Hotel. Now there are more than 3800 hotels of 19 different brands all around the world. JW Marriott Absheron Baku recently opened in Baku is the 54th hotel of the JW Marriott brand in the world.

About Marriott in Baku: how many guests can you gather in one time? How many people are employed?

The 23-storey JW Marriott Absheron Baku hotel is located in the heart of the city centre and offers 6 room categories, including Executive Studio and a Presidential Suite. JW Marriott Absheron Baku features 243 spacious rooms which allowed the hotel accommodate up to 446 guests in one time. The Absheron Spa occupies the roof top floors and features views of Baku and the Caspian Sea. JW Marriott Absheron Baku offers a captivating culinary journey at 4 dining venues, including Fireworks Oriental Kitchen, OroNero Bar & Ristorante (contemporary northern Italian cuisine), Zest Lifestyle Café and Razzmatazz Cocktail Bar & Lounge.

Why has Marriott chosen this place? Did you investigate other places of the city as well?

All the Baku citizens know and love old Absheron hotel that is why this place became obvious for the new JW Marriott Absheron Baku. The location is perfect and guest of the hotel enjoy a magnificent view to the whole Baku and the Caspian Sea. As a dedication to the old Absheron hotel we kept its name so the hotel guest may keep the tradition and celebrate weddings and anniversaries in the same place and in the same Sharg Zali.

Is it true that it should have been 20-storey building and three more floors were added later?

From the beginning the JW Marriott Absheron Baku was planned as a 23-storeys building.

Did you enjoy huge occupancy during Eurovision song contest in Baku?

During the Eurovision JW Marriott Absheron Baku was fully booked.

The hotel building – is it unique project for Baku or something similar already exists in other parts of the world?

Does Marriott International have further plans in Azerbaijan?

Marriott Int. is a very fast growing company which opens from 30 to 40 properties quarterly all around the world. Of course, the company has plans in Azerbaijan as it is a unique and a fast developing country.
